When shopping for gear everyone goes straight to the cool stuff like knives, flashlights, and backpacks. However, quality hygiene products are just as important because you'll be using them everyday. Dr. Bronner's magic soap is an excellent organic alternative to many of the standard soaps you'll find in the supermarket isle. After using it for the past several weeks I've found it to be an excellent product. Some observations while using this soap include: - Organic and Free Trade - Great as a body wash. Cleans thoroughly with no oily film afterwards. - A little strong for a shampoo. Dilute it if possible and purchase a separate conditioner (also sold by Dr. Bronner's). - Works well as a detergent for laundry. Just make sure to use it sparingly since it tends to lather easily and might leave some some after you rinse. - As a toothpaste...um...it cleans but I'll stick to the taste of my Toms of Maine. - I love the quirky packaging. It reminds me of those snake-oil salesmen ads from the 1800s. - A little more expensive than other soaps. This is tempered by the fact that it is so versatile and you can purchase it on sale through various retailers and online sources.
